School of Media and International Cultures-Hong Kong Baptist University School of Communication Symposium on Artificial Intelligence and Health Communication Successfully Held

On the morning of May 17, 2024, the Symposium on Artificial Intelligence and Health Communication between School of Media and International Culture, Zhejiang University and School of Communication, Hong Kong Baptist University was successfully held in Cheng Jun Yuan. Zhao Yu, Vice Dean of the School of Media and International Culture, and Zhong Bu, Dean of the School of Communication, Hong Kong Baptist University, led representatives of teachers and students from their respective schools to attend the symposium.


At the meeting, Ms. Zhao Yu extended a warm welcome to Dean Zhong Bu's delegation. She pointed out that this symposium is not only an academic exchange, but also an opportunity to deepen the friendship between the two colleges. The School of Communication is the first school to visit after the new leadership of the School of Communication took office. It is hoped that the School of Communication and the School of Communication will strengthen academic cooperation and talent exchange in the future.

President Zhong Bu expressed his gratitude for the welcome from the School of Communication. He pointed out that the friendship between the two schools has a long history, and the School of Communication hopes to maintain a good relationship and strengthen cooperation with the School in the future.

The President of the Church “AI Imaginaries Shape Identity FusionOn this topic, the opening statement was made. He introduced that the era of AI has arrived, and preparing for an AI-filled future is crucial. Research has found that people's imagination of AI reflects their personality traits, and the use of AI offers the possibility of strengthening global connectivity.

Teachers and students from the School of Communication at Hong Kong Baptist University discussed topics such as AI-assisted medical care, AI-assisted elderly care, and psychological problems encountered by different genders in infant rearing, and introduced their research directions and research results.

Subsequently, teachers and students from the School of Media and International Culture of Zhejiang University discussed issues such as social support interaction in the era of artificial intelligence, generative AI and risk communication, the causes of online fraud among the elderly, and the dynamic mechanism of smartphone use by the elderly in China.

After the exhibition, teachers and students from the School of Communication and the School of Communication discussed the problems in the exhibition and the future cooperation direction.
